The European Digital Library initiative - Joining up the pieces, strategies and actions at European level

The European Commission has designated the "European Digital Library" as one of its i2010 flagship projects, delivering integrated access to the digitised collections of museums, archives, libraries and other cultural organisations. Issues of immediate concern revolve around cross-domain collaboration, creating a critical mass, and ensuring interoperability. The Commission addresses and supports these issues through actions at different levels - political, strategic and technical.
