Born 30.05.1968 in Munich, Germany. 1988-1994 studies in
Würzburg and Munich (History of modern German literature; Islamic studies; Linguistics).
Graduated as M.A. 1992 Ankara Universitesi, 1993 Goethe-Institut Izmir/Turkey. 1999-2001
University of Applied Sciences Cologne / Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Preußischer
Kulturbesitz (Library education). 2002 University of Würzburg, Doctoral thesis. 1994-1996
Participation in the Historic-critical edition of Jean-Paul. 1996 State University of New
York. 1997-1999 Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Preußischer Kulturbesitz, scientific cataloguing
of the personal papers of Jean Paul; 2001-2003 Dept. of manuscripts. As from 2003, staff
member of the German Research Council (DFG).

Preservation". Dr. Ralf Goebel as one of the Directors of Programmes in the German
Research Council (DFG) oversees the section "Provision of scientific literature supply,
and information systems (LIS 2)" and the support programme "Cultural heritage".
